Yes, believe it. It does happen. Please don't be the type to think "it can't happen here." In 2010, over 756 cases of child sexual abuse and/or severe child physical abuse were reported in one County alone to one organization, "Children's Safe Harbor." Research confirmed that very few of the incidents reported were false.
WARNING SIGNS OF POSSIBLE CHILD ABUSE:
Physical Signs:
Unexpected bruises
Burns or fractures
Mess, neglected appearance
Loss of appetite; malnourishment
Disturbed sleep
Urinary tract infections
Sexually transmitted diseases
Behavioral Signs:
Sudden behavior changes
Unexplained anger and rebellion
Withdrawal, clinging, anxiety and depression
Fear of a certain person or place
Discomfort with physical contact
Sexually acting out behaviors
Suicidal tendencies
BE AWARE, some children show NO signs. If you do suspect abuse, PLEASE report it to your local Law Enforcement Agency by calling 911 or call your statewide hot line for the Department of Family and Protective Services.
Please take this seriously. You could save a child's life. You could save a child from growing up with so much pain and anguish that it paralyzes their ability to function in the "real" world.
Thank you. There are links to organizations to find help on this blog. Scroll down and look on the right side of the blog.

No I am Not CRAZY
Many people do not believe in D.I.D. (Dissociative Identity Disorder formerly called Multiple Personality Disorder). For me that does not matter, because I have lived with it everyday since as far back as I can remember. And, that my friend is very far. So, I know it is real. It is a disorder driven by extreme emotional pain. It usually originates in childhood. The cause is severe trauma. If you are interested in learning what it is like to live in this state you can follow this blog. If you are someone who has D.I.D. please be careful and take care that nothing "triggers" you. I know how it can be. You are sitting there reading something and then before you realize it, a "flashback" occurs and you are back in another time, another place where the experience you are feeling is real, in this moment, happening now.

Holocaust Remembrance Day: May 2, 2011
I want to begin my blog with a link to the United States Holocaust Museum. Click the tilte of this blog and you will be directed to their web page. We must never forget what has happened in WWII and what continues to happen in so many countries. I also want to remember the children that suffered tremendously from the evil of that time and the children that suffer from childhood abuse as we speak.
The following is a You Tube link to remember the children.

Abuse causes an emotionally, crippling, mental disease that is terribly difficult to overcome, if at all possible to defeat.

An Explanation of My Picture and Title
This picture was painted by Samuel Bak. He is a survivor of the Holocaust. It is titled "Interruption". Probably because the evil he lived through as a child "interrupted" his childhood. I am a survivor of childhood abuse. Thus, I chose the title of my blog and the profile picture because my childhood was also "interrupted" by an evil. I feel a deep connection to survivors.
