Smash365: Create

Original post for September 2, 2011 by Cara Moulds

Start with this scene and bring it to life. Write for 10 minutes or create a piece of art.

Place: under a bush
Character: an independent thinker
Object: a telescope
Mood: interested

My weakness and I had been travelling companions for many years.  We had traversed many different terrains…the highest peaks and the lowest valleys on the earth.  Our struggles were many. There were times when our wills clashed and we became engaged in battle.

One day, as we were raging war against each other, we rolled under a thorny bush.  As we continued to struggle, suddenly we saw something shiny inching its way up through the dirt.  Curious, we both started excavating this brass looking object.  Much to our surprise it was a telescope.  We cleaned it and began looking through the lens.  We looked up.  We looked outward.  Beauty was abounding.

Without warning, a small voice whispered through the air, “Look within you, look within each other.”  It frightened both of us as we were not used to hearing other voices.  We only heard and listened to our own voice.

We began to take turns looking within.  This was no surprise as we knew our own selves very well.  Then we looked into each other with open minds.  It was then that I saw the value in my weakness and realized that I had been struggling and fighting with myself all these years.  I saw the beauty and strength in what I had viewed as less than human.  For in my weakness, I found vulnerability; I found kindness and gentleness; I found a caring for humanity and earth that I had never recognized before this moment.

So, as I looked into my weakness’s eyes, I begged her forgiveness and took her into my arms embracing all the beauty that I had left in the wilderness for so many years.  I had always thought I was stronger without my weakness.  But, in the moment of acceptance, I could feel my strength growing.  I had finally found peace…no longer did I have to live in the torment of war.

Smash 365: Write: THE JOURNEY TO PRIMORDIAL SPIRIT

"Use this prompt to inspire. Write for 5 minutes:

Instead of landing the space shuttle on earth, its captain steers the shuttle into…"

PHOTO:  Journey to Primordial Spirit: Copyright by Kati Astraeir

After travelling in the Darkness for many light years, the captain felt a calling to a different way.  Thinking that the earth had become a less than desirable place and was filled with dead end roads blocking their desired destination, the captain suddenly decided to listen to intuition and order the ship into hyper drive.  “Let it Be, that we travel to the realm of the unknown,” the captain said to his crew.

Suddenly, they arrived in the most unimaginable, extraordinary sphere.  The Land of Atonement (at-one-ment) was before them in all its glory and serenity.  It will be in this land that the captain and the crew will come to know each other and their Self.  It is here that bliss (Creator) and pain (humanity) will join to become one.  This will lead to living in peace, love and compassion until all are taken back into Eternal Life.

Peace,

A SLIGHTLY HUGE DETOUR ON MY JOURNEY TO WHOLENESS

Microsoft Clip Art

It has been a week riddled with setbacks.  I am no longer surprised by this--it is to be expected on any journey.  There will always be bumps and potholes in the road.

But this pothole was a huge one.  Let me just say that the pain sent me into a nose dive into the depths of the ocean, where there is no Light.  I lost touch with my Self and my creative side.  I lost touch PERIOD.

It is not easy to admit certain things, especially failures and mistakes.  However, the admission of any mistake you might think you have made or of any perceived failure has the possibility of changing the way you view it. Sometimes, you will learn it is not always YOUR failure or mistake.  But, without bringing it into the spot light of admission, examining it under this illumination, either alone or with help, you might live with it in the shadows…and all for naught.

This was the case for me this week.  I continue to learn that my first reaction to a problem seems to be self-blame.  Even though a little voice in the back of my mind, MY ANKH (intuition) whispers and then finally shouts, “THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT.  THIS IS THEIR HUGE FIERY BALL OF ENERGY BEING THROWN AT YOU.  YOUR REFUSAL TO NOT SOAK IT IN LIKE THE SPONGE YOU HAVE BEEN IN THE PAST IS CAUSING IT TO BE BOUNCED BACK ON TO THEM.  Of course, they are going to lash out in anger, because they want you to absorb all their negativity, so they can continue to not accept responsibility for their own choices.”

I had help from my teacher today and finally reached this conclusion.  She helped me understand that the people doing this to me are NOT FROM THE PAST, so it is different.  But, what happens is the ENERGY feels the same as it did in the past and it takes me back; it drags me down to the bottom of that deep dark well.  It triggers some of the same helplessness and hopelessness that I felt when I was living in the chaos of my childhood. But I am not a child any longer, although at times it still feels that way.   I have control now.  I do not have to give up control any longer.  I do not have to sacrifice my ‘self’ to anyone for any reason.  I can be ‘self’-ish.  I have a right to protect my ‘self’.

We all make mistakes and have failures.  But, they are NOT always our fault.  Whenever two people are involved there is a dynamic going on between them.  An energy, if you will, comprised of all that has happened before in the relationship.  There is no blame, no shame; only the choices each individual makes for themselves.

I am learning.  She is teaching.  I trust her wisdom and will absorb the lessons she has to share learned from her own wounded-ness, her own journey—but, only the ones that feel right to me.  She would not have it any other way.

I have been blessed.  I am grateful to God, the Creator, my Higher Power, my Source, my Beginning for the chances that have been presented to me to heal my past after so many years.

I feel stronger today.  I am a survivor who is learning to thrive.  I hope someone will be helped by the lessons I am learning on the journey I am taking.

Peace.

Intuition by Susan Piver #Trust30 (Day 24)

The secret of fortune is joy in our hands. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
If you could picture your intuition as a person, what would he or she look like? If you sat down together for dinner, what is the first thing he or she would tell you?

I realize I have once again strayed from the prompt by not using a person to describe my intuition.  But I do not view my intuition as a person.  I believe it comes from something beyond our human-ness.  It has a voice, but it does not necessarily 'look' the same in each person, or speak the same.  It is totally unique in each of us.  I view it as the ‘key to life’.  It serves both as a guide and a protection.   I believe intuition comes from our soul,  our spirit.  How can I put a human face to something that I believe is spiritual?

Ankh

I picture my intuition as ‘ANKH’.
The first thing my Intuition would say to me is as follows:
“Why do you not trust me?  The times you have listened to me I have not guided you in the wrong direction.  I am very strong and wise.  My knowledge can take you very far on your journey.   My key can unlock many doors for you, which lead to many paths.  Sometimes you over think.  I am not saying thinking is wrong…thinking is good.  Yet, when thinking leads you to a place that goes against me, it is not the right place for you.  I am waiting patiently for you to use me more…I do not mind being used.  For me, being used is not a negative connotation.  USE ME!  I am your ‘eternal life’.  Trust me.  I promise not to let you down.”
