Dreams by Michael Rad #Trust30 (Day 18)

Abide in the simple and noble regions of thy life, obey thy heart. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Write down your top three dreams. Now write down what’s holding you back from them.

Now, why does this prompt not surprise me?  Since, I barely came up with one dream for the post yesterday, there is no way I will be able to come up with three today.

I understand that repetition is a good teacher.  To write over and over what is holding us back from our dreams might allow us to actualize the dreams, to bring them to fruition.  However, for me this ‘repetition’ is taking me back to a time in elementary school.  It was the time for writing lines-- not only at school, but at home.  In the classroom, if you were REALLY bad, you had the privilege to write your lines on the chalkboard.  I guess that was better than sitting in front of the entire class wearing a ‘baby bib’ with the word ‘BABY’ stitched on the front.  At home it was one of the easier punishments--much easier than kneeling in front of the toilet for hours.  I will not bore you with any more details.

So—FORGIVE ME Michael Rad and fellow bloggers. While I look forward to reading all of your posts, this assignment is not on my agenda for today.  As we say sometimes down here in the ‘South’:  “I have bigger and better fish to fry!” J

  1. I just LOVE you, Nico! I am having the same kind feeling. I want to flip my finger and go out the door! LOL.

Maybe I will have a go at it, but for now...I think I will go have an ice cream.

    xoxo, Michi

  3. I do love this blog challenge because I love Emerson and it is so different from other challenges I have done. I don't like that it seems to be so repetitive. I think we should find another author and make our own challenge for a month and make something different every day. I do realize there is a theme with the #trust30 but you have to have some variation or bloggers and readers will get bored.

  4. Excellent suggestion, Chrystal. How about Mr. H.D. Thoreau?

  5. I think that is a great suggestion also. We need to keep each other 'on our toes'!! Well, at least I need help with it!!! I will be sad when this one ends!

  6. As you saw on my day 11, I'm realizing the repetition here. I'm seeming to find inspiration in the quotes themselves rather than the prompts. I like Thoreau, that could be cool.
